After graduation (contrary to the "RCA Institute" statement) I went to work for Compton Industries on the Vestal Parkway calibrating electronic instruments. At that time I realized my first mistake in life and went to Broome Community College (Broome Tech then) and earn an AAS degree in Electrical Technology (Class of '68). During this period (1967-September) I was happily married to Cheryl Sandwick (CV class of '65, BTCC Class of '67) and we are still married! From the education at Broome I was able to secure a position at IBM Glendale at which I labored for three years realizing too late (I thought at the time) that I really needed a 4-year degree. (I still think I needed a 4-year degree but that's for discussion at another time.) After IBM I did a short stints as an Amway Distributor, advertising sales for WNBF AM & FM Radio, a salesman for B&B TV Service, a home entertainment salesman at the "new" Wards Store (moonlighted as a drummer in a band called "The Rhythm Aces") and finally landed a real job at Universal Instruments. That one lasted over 17 years. During this period we were happy to have a daughter Denelle Rene (Dec 1972), and a son Matthew Aaron (Dec 1975). They both went on to get those 4-year degrees, Marist College and the University of Virginia respectively. Currently we live in Wake Forest, NC and work in Raleigh where I am Vice President of Product Marketing for Encore Trading East, LLC "an equipment trading company". We are re-marketers of end of lease circuit board assembly equipment to the electronics industry. Our daughter, Denelle, is soon to deliver a Grand Child May 16th (due any day now). I will have the wallet full of photos in time for the reunion so be ready! Update, 2003: Proud grand-parents, Cheryl and Dave, on a hayride with Paige Renee Manley born on May 9th, 2002. Our son is set to propose to his sweetheart this month and we are looking forward to their wedding next year. See you in September! Update 2012: I retired sometime in 2009 and Cheryl retired in March 2011. Grand Children update: Daughter Denelle and husband Dave have two children, Paige (10) and Alex (7). Son Matt and wife Tara also have two children, Caitlin (5) and Keegan (2). We are spending as much time with travel, grandchildren and families.
