From Broome Tech, I attended SUNY at Cortland, studied for a semester in Neuchatel, Switzerland, and graduated
in 1966 with a B.A. in French. The following year I attended Laval University in Quebec in a pre-master's
program. After Laval I spent a year teaching high school French and Latin.
I moved to San Francisco in 1968 and welcomed the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. During my early years, I worked in the export and shipping industries. With the advent of the computer, I branched into accounting and programming. A few years ago, I decided it was time to stop and smell the roses, follow my bliss, walk the labyrinth. By what has to have been a kind of spiritual intervention, I found myself in my dream job -- working for a catalog flower company located on the bay, across from Pac Bell Park. Offices decorated with floral arrangements and breaks outside in the sun, watching water ripples, sailboats and aquatic birds, have certainly spoiled me. The company was sold recently and is moving to Florida. Tempting as that sounds, I don't want to leave San Francisco. I'm fortunate to have lived in this beautiful city for 34 years and am happy and content here. While presently previewing retirement, I'm glad it's not yet the real thing. Kudos to Mike and the committee members for their great work in organizing the reunion and to Dick for the fabulous job he has done on the website. See you all in September. |
