Forget me not when far away

Forget me not when far away,
     And other friends you greet;
Forget me not when with the gay,
     For social cheer you meet.

Forget me not in evening hours,
     When sweetest flowers bloom;
And zephyrs waft from spicy bowers
     Their fragrance and perfume.

May virtue guard you on your way,
     Till life's sweet journey be o'er;
Then may we meet in endless day
     Where friends should meet to part no more.
