This horn has seen a lot of use.  The bell is worn very thin and has been patched in several places. Numerous dents throughout. There is also a hole in the bell tail above the first valve where the thumb of the left hand has worn through.
Clock spring valves are typically mounted "upside down" as compared with modern horn design. That is, the linkages from the finger levers are on the front side of the horn with very ornate screws on the the rotors, while the similarly ornate valve caps are on the player's side.

This horn  follows the pattern of Kölner model horns. It is shown in the Alexander catalog from 1914 as model Nr. 94 and described as "feinste Ventile, bestes Soloinstrument" ("finest valves, best solo instrument").
